From the moment we were offered refreshing towels and peach tea upon check-in, I knew The Address Dubai Marina would fulfil all the dreams of relaxation that we had been having during our dusty adventures in Oman. We were checked in promptly and whisked up to our room. My eyes lingered on the deep bath and the bed that I knew I would never want to get out of, but there was really only one thing on my mind at that moment - the infinity pool on the fourth floor. So although it was a bit too late for sunbathing, we headed down to have a look. When we stepped out what we saw was breathtaking. There was a large infinity pool surrounded by sun loungers and other seating with the marina skyline jutting up around it. We dipped our toes in and the water was gloriously warm. Lots of people were still around the pool catching the last rays of the day, but we opted for a drink at Shades, the restaurant next to the pool. Well, at least that's what we thought we would do. We were promptly handed menus and decided on two Tiger beers and then waited to order. And waited. And waited. Rather annoyed, we eventually stood up and walked away. This could have soured our experience but then one of the guys working at the pool, Allen, called out to us. He had seen us leave because we couldn't get service and he wanted to make things right. He insisted we have a seat and brought us mint lime juice and snacks on the house. As we sat there sipping away, we noticed the most secluded, romantic table tucked away by the pool. We asked if we could book it for that night and Allen promptly booked it for us.
