Westhaven is a great place to shoot the setting sun's reflection across the marina while getting some lovely shots of the yachts in the harbour. We'll commence near Westhaven Beach and walk the length of the marina looking for compositions as we go. If it isn't windy we will get beautiful reflections. As the sun starts to set we'll settle on a spot to shoot the sunset and city lights as they come on.
I will have a demo set of Nisi Neutral Density Filters on hand for attendees to try - this will provide you with a great opportunity to 'feel out' what filters to purchase. If you purchase on the night I will offer a reduced price from that which is offered online.
Gear: a tripod, a polariser filter will be useful for the reflections and an ND filter and a ND graduated filter, if at all possible. These aren't completely necessary, but will certainly improve your imagery. A wide to standard zoom works best at this location. Naturally, wear a warm jacket and warm footwear. It does get cold out at this time of evening.
Please ensure you are also available Sunday afternoon in case the weather is bad Saturday. We will use Sunday as a backup date. Once you have paid add yourself as "going" to the event on Facebook to be sure to get updates on where to meet and if we need to reschedule the event.
